Generalities : Stabilized flowers are natural. Variations in sizes, shapes and colours can exist between elements of the same reference. Some parts may present slight defects (slightly split petals, damaged sepals...).
Use : Can be glued with hot glue or cold floral glue.
Humidity : If the humidity level is too high, a few drops of colour can flow from the flower. Dark colours flow more easily. Do not put it in contact with any other flower or light-coloured porous material to prevent it from dying.
Light & heat exposure : The flower exposed to the sun for extended periods of time may discolour - Exposed to heat, it dries out.
Evolution over time : Over time, flowers tend to wither and fade more or less. Dark colours discolour more than light ones.
Flower's colour : Food colouring (non-toxic)
Odour : Stabilized flowers no longer have a natural smell. It is possible to add a fragrance by depositing one or more drops of our perfume « Alhambra » in the heart of the flower.
The poinsettia is an emblematic plant of the Christmas season. Its bright colour adds a festive touch to any floral decoration. Here's everything you need to know about it and the different ways you can incorporate it into your creations.
A Plant Closely Associated with Christmas
The poinsettia is an essential plant for winter floral arrangements, adding a festive, elegant touch to any décor. The bright red colour of its bracts, often mistaken for petals, immediately evokes the spirit of Christmas, which is why it is regularly used in table decorations, door wreaths and centrepieces during this season.
Ideal combinations
Combined with other stabilised plants, the red poinsettia can enrich many floral creations. Some of the best combinations include stabilised pine or cedar branches, which are reminiscent of Christmas trees and enhance the winter look. These foliages provide a deep green contrast to the red colour of the poinsettia, creating an attractive visual balance. Stabilised eucalyptus is another interesting option to accompany the poinsettia, providing a softer texture and grey-green hues that add variety and a modern look to the composition. Ivy is also a soft, malleable alternative for creating lighter compositions.
The red poinsettia goes equally well with stabilised flowers such as roses or hydrangeas. Red or white roses add a classic, elegant touch, while hydrangeas, with their large flowers, add volume and relief.
Decoration ideas
Here are a few ideas for incorporating stabilised poinsettia into your projects:
- Wall wreaths: Use the poinsettia as a centrepiece, surrounded by green foliage.
- Centrepieces: Add roses and amaryllis for a sophisticated arrangement.
- Display decorations: Combine several poinsettias for impressive festive installations.
